Makeup that Makes You Look Younger

01/07/2009, Wednesday
While surfing net today, I found some interesting information about make up. Sounds interesting… hmmmm... learnt another new thing today. You too, can turn the clock back with these techniques.

Concealers, Foundations & Powders
Excellent choices are light-reflective ones as these bounce light away from your skin. The result is an overall improvement in skin tone to give your face the illusion of younger-looking complexion.
To prevent concealer from settling into fine lines, dab away excess and blot with a tissue for a matte finish.
Apply evenly and blend with makeup sponges to avoid tell-tale tidemarks. Go easy on the amount - too much foundation or powder creates a mask-like effect which can be ageing.
Even worse, the thick makeup can settle into fine lines and wrinkles, emphasizing what you are trying to conceal in the first place.

Blush
Blush can recreate the healthy, flushed glow of youthful skin. Try using a cream blush
or gel blush to give the cheekbones a soft dewy coloring.

Eyeshadow
Avoid using garish shades like the plague, such as turquoise, lime or bright lavenders. Stick to subtle and natural colors like taupe, rose pinks and pale lilacs for an understated makeup.

Eyebrows
The standard auntie-look - harsh, too-dark eyebrows are a no-no. Your brow pencil should be a medium shade of brown, never black or dark brown. For an even lighter definition, try using eyebrow powder or powder pencils.
